The gearbox consists of a series of meshing gears,each with a specific module,number of teeth,and tooth profile. The meshing of gears allows power to be transmitted while changing the rotation speed and torque. It is an indispensable component in the field of mechanical transmission. The function of gearbox:
- Acceleration or deceleration,which is often known as speed gearbox or reducer ;
- Change the transmission direction: For example,with two bevel gears to transmit the force vertically to another rotation axis;
- Change the rotational torque: Under the same power condition,the faster the gearbox rotating,the torque on the shaft will be smaller,and vice versa;
- Clutch and brake function: By separating two originally meshed gears to separate the power and load,such as a brake clutch,etc.;
- Power distribution: For example,one motor can be used to drive multiple slave axes through the gearbox input shaft,thereby realizing the function of one motor driving multiple loads.
